Over 10,400 homes found buyers across the East of England in October, but what lies behind that figure? Sales agreed were 7.9% below last year, yet 19% ahead of 2023. Discover what these changing market trends reveal about buyer demand and why local evidence matters for Attleborough homeowners.
More than 10,000 homes found a buyer across the East of England in October. That sounds busy, and 10,411 sales agreed certainly represent plenty of moving plans. Yet the comparisons deserve a closer look.
Against October 2022’s 8,488 sales agreed, the 2026 figure was 22.7% higher. It was also 19.0% above October 2023’s 8,747. However, it was 13.5% below October 2024’s 12,029 and 7.9% below October 2025’s 11,299. The region recorded 888 fewer sales agreed than October 2025, while remaining 1,923 ahead of October 2022. The neighbouring South East saw a slightly smaller annual decline of 6.9%, against 7.9% here.
A slower October than last year does not mean buyers have disappeared. It does mean sellers should pay attention to the evidence around their own property. An asking price is a starting position, not proof of what a buyer will offer.
